Ashley Hay’s stoppage-time winner gave Dundee Football Club a dramatic 2-1 victory at Falkirk. The result lifts the Dark Blues to fourth place in the Premiership on 13 points after eight games.

James Christie said, “This was Dundee’s first league win at the Falkirk Stadium since it opened in 2005.” Falkirk had taken the lead after 31 minutes when Jacob Murrell converted a penalty. Dundee, fielding a depleted side due to injuries, equalised seven minutes into the second half through Owen Bevan’s header from a Drey Wright cross.

Dundee dominated the match, registering 23 shots to Falkirk’s 15 and forcing nine saves from Scott Bain. Bradley Fink had a goal ruled out for offside by VAR before Hay chested down Ethan Hamilton’s free-kick and fired home in the 91st minute. Owen Goodman preserved the win by tipping a late Falkirk effort onto the crossbar.

“In the circumstances this was a huge win for the Dark Blues, and all eleven players deserve to share the Man of the Match award,” Christie added. The win extends Dundee’s recent form to two consecutive victories ahead of a home match against second-placed Rangers on Saturday, 17 October.
