Ashley Hay has signed a new contract with Dundee Football Club, committing his future to the club until the summer of 2028. The deal includes a club option for a further extension beyond that date.
Hay put pen to paper after scoring a dramatic 91st-minute winner in Dundee's 2-1 victory away to Falkirk last Saturday. The 23-year-old striker, who joined from Brentford in July 2025, has now scored eight goals for the club.
"I’m excited to extend my stay at the club," Hay said. "Everyone has been really good with me since I joined."
He also highlighted the bond with supporters, saying, "The fans have been very good with me since I came here, very supportive. I’ve never had love like this from a club before."
Manager Steven Pressley praised Hay's development and impact. Pressley noted the player's commitment and work rate have forged a strong connection with the Dundee support. The manager expressed his excitement about Hay's future potential within the squad.
Hay's late strike at Falkirk secured a vital three points, contributing to Dundee's current fourth-place position in the Premiership. The club has 13 points from eight matches and sits eight points behind leaders Celtic.
Since his arrival, Hay has netted five goals in his debut season and added two more in this term's Premier Sports Cup group stage. His recent return from injury was capped by the decisive goal at Falkirk, a result that extended Dundee's winning run to two games. The full fixtures list shows a challenging home match against second-placed Rangers is next on 17 October.
Hay's new long-term deal signals Dundee's intent to build around a core of emerging talent as they push for a European qualification spot. The striker is expected to feature against Rangers at Dens Park.
